As a massage therapist, you have the opportunity to play an integral role in the health and well-being of clients as you guide them through a variety of service offerings for healing and relaxation and provide massage treatments. This program is 88 weeks. Students are exposed to a wide variety of clinical opportunities through the Inland State Clinic. Upon successful completion of all curriculum courses and clinical experiences, students in Anderson College’s massage therapy program are eligible to complete and challenge the Ontario College of Massage Therapists Registration Examinations. This exam has both a written and a practical part. Our accelerated massage therapy program is recognized by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario as meeting the academic requirements to write the registration exam. Candidates who successfully pass this exam will be eligible to use the professional title of Registered Massage Therapist. Additional fees apply. Registered massage therapists in Ontario are regulated health professionals whose governing body is the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Applicable legislation includes the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Massage Therapy Act.
Our program is based on the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics defined by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and cross-jurisdictional practice competencies and performance indicators defined by the Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FOMTRAC).

Depending on the state in which you plan to obtain your massage therapy license, the amount of training required to become an LMT varies, but the average is 600-750 hours. In several states, you may need 1,500 hours.
Month Licensed Massage Therapy Training Programs
Can this training be completed in 3 months? Let’s see. Dividing an average of 600 hours by an 8-hour day equals 75 days. Then 75 days divided by a 5-day week makes 15 weeks. Since there are about 4 weeks in a month, we divide 15 by 4 and get about 3.75 months. If you need 750 hours, that adds another month to that estimate of about 5 months. 🙂 Remember that math involves going to class for 8 hours a day, so the time it takes to complete the class will depend on your program schedule.
Without math, 3-month accelerated massage therapy training programs are a rare option, but can be found at some schools, with 6- to 8-month programs being more common. There are even some degree programs that take 2-4 years to complete. It really depends on how specialized your skills are.
An accredited massage therapy training program is mandatory, as most states require massage therapists to be licensed. Each state has a different set of requirements, but all states require you to take the MBLEx exam.
Massage therapy school takes an average of 600-750 hours and the cost of a massage therapist education is about $9,000-$15,000. If you go to a community college, the cost of the course will be equal to the school’s tuition per person. credit hour, but private massage therapy schools have different rates.
