Baltimore Inner Harbor Aquarium Hours – Seven stories high and covered by a glass pyramid, this is considered to be America’s best aquarium, with nearly 20,000 creatures from more than 700 species, a rooftop rainforest, a multi-story shark tank and a huge replica of an Indo-Pacific reef which is home to black tip reef sharks, a green sea turtle and rays. There is also a reconstruction of the Umbrawarra Gorge in Australia’s Northern Territory, complete with 35ft waterfalls, rocky cliffs and free-roaming birds and lizards.

The largest exhibit sees seven bottlenose dolphins held in captivity. However, the aquarium plans to retire them to an oceanside sanctuary as soon as it is safe to do so (releasing them into the wild is not an option, as they lack survival skills). Pollution and climate challenges must be worked through before the move. You will be happy to read that the dolphins no longer perform in shows here.
