Po-boys, Chinese food, boiled seafood, ya-ka-men (also pronounced yaka mein – a magical mix of minced beef, noodles, green onions, hard-boiled egg and broth), fried chicken, as well as a variety of fresh seafood options. Boil moderately spicy, lovely clove and garlic flavor. It’s a middle-of-the-road crawfish – a crowd pleaser.
Bevy started in Metairie and chef Justin LeBlanc expanded to this second location in mid-city, much to the delight of locals. The crawfish is fresh and good-sized, and the menu includes po-boys (try the smoked oysters or cochon de lite) and fried seafood. Beavi sells cooked and raw crawfish, shrimp and crab in season, as well as oysters. The counter-service restaurant has plenty of seating, and prices for boiled crawfish remain competitive throughout the season.
This 7th Ward spot near the corner of St. Bernard Avenue and Broad St. is known for its boiled seafood and fried chicken. Paru has a strong hint of clove, a deep, savory flavor and a mild, lingering heat. It’s counter service only – but you come for the food, not the atmosphere. Po-boys are plentiful, well-priced and well-regarded.

It’s a bit of a trek, but Salvo’s offers delicious boiled seafood at a better price than most restaurants in town. Nightly rotates between crab, shrimp, and crawfish, but crawfish are consistently available by the pound in season.
The full-service restaurant has been open since 1984 and offers sandwiches, steaks and ribs, though most people come for the boiled and fried seafood specials. Boiled seafood specials also include all-you-can-eat boiled sides.

Pearl Wine Company, a wine shop/bar combo located in the American Can Building in Mid-City, also hosts a great occasional boil popup to coincide with special events like bingo night or wine tasting. Seathers and Crawfish King are grabbing hot boiled crawfish to kick off 2022.
A month ago in mid-city, the first advertised restaurant Crawfish Boil took place at Clessis, one of the city’s favorite spots for the seasonal staple. But crawfish season and carnival season usually go hand-in-hand, and with King’s Day on January 6, mudbug season is officially in full swing at New Orleans restaurants.
