Best Place For Brunch In San Diego – There’s no denying that San Diego locals take brunch very seriously, myself included. I personally love going out for brunch, whether it’s with my family, my husband or my girlfriends. Starting the day by dressing for a good meal and a fruity mimosa always puts me in the best mood. There are endless amounts of brunch spots to choose from, but I’ve narrowed it down to my personal top 5 brunch spots in San Diego that are delicious but also super trendy (perfect for that Instagram photo).
This aesthetically pleasing place is new to the brunch scene in San Diego and is already at the top of everyone’s list for one of the best brunch spots in San Diego. It opened recently, so the waiting time can be long on weekends. I recommend stopping by on weekdays to avoid the crowds or earlier in the morning to beat the rush. This gem is located in Little Italy, so you can start your day with breakfast and continue walking around the neighborhood. The restaurant is covered in pink walls, gold accents and the most amazing decor (pictured above). It takes brunching to a whole other level! Serious morning intentions. Do not leave without trying the pancake souffle. So worth those extra calories, I promise!
Best Place For Brunch In San Diego
This New Zealand themed restaurant is another favorite brunch spot I’ve been going to for years. It is also located in Little Italy. As adorable as it is, it’s not modern or trendy like Morning Glory. Instead, this place gives a more “at home” feeling as it is a wooden Victorian House building and the large outdoor courtyard is covered with plants. The food is always on point and makes you feel like you’re actually in New Zealand, enjoying your meal at a bed and breakfast. You can never go wrong coming here! Oh, they’re also dog friendly (as long as you’re outside) so that’s always nice!
San Diego Brunch Spots To Try Right Now
The Mission is probably my favorite place of all for a delicious, cold breakfast. There are actually 3 locations, one in North Park, Mission Beach, and the East Village. When I lived in North Park, I used to walk to this breakfast place all the time. This place offers lots of delicious vegetarian options which is always a plus as I try to avoid red meat when I can. Another plus is that a gluten free menu is also available upon request and all their eggs come from a local farm! You always know you’re getting great quality food when you eat at the Mission! Love their healthy options as well as their indulgent treats.
This brunch spot is one of the most popular brunch spots in San Diego and is almost always voted the best brunch spot in SD by the locals. The North Park location is my favorite, but there are a total of 8 locations in San Diego County! They offer American classics like eggs benedict, omelets and stir-fries. What sets this breakfast spot apart from the rest is that they take traditional breakfast dishes like pancakes and French toast and give it a twist. Their churro pancakes are to die for and the s’mores french toast is insanely sweet. They also offer breakfast cocktails to complete your morning date! There’s always a wait here, so weekdays are my favorite time to go.
Last but not least is Panja e Madhe. This place is the perfect 1950s style brunch spot that offers comfort food with a modern twist. Some customers come just for the maple bacon covered donuts, but my personal favorites are the English Popovers! They serve big portions so you really do get what you pay for. This place is almost always busy, but trust me – it’s worth the wait. They have another location in La Jolla as well as other neighboring cities in Southern California. The menu also varies by location, so be sure to do some research before you visit.
