Villas offer separate bedrooms and living areas that give travelers plenty of space (Superior King Rooms don’t) for (generally) a reasonable price for what you get.

This is one of the best hotels in San Diego, California for extended stays and multigenerational travel, although a stay of any length is pleasant. Dinner at Seasons Restaurant is lovely and changes seasonally – and sometimes daily as local farmers markets inspire the Chef de Cuisine – so there’s always something new.

Why Go: You want an intimate, top-rated luxury boutique hotel adjacent to Torrey Pines Golf Course and Torrey Pines State Wildlife Refuge. You will need to appreciate its California craft style. The Lodge at Torrey Pines offers ocean views and excellent customer service. I book many repeat guests and was reminded of how beautiful it is during a recent personal stay.
