This small village is home to one of the two RSPB nature reserves on Loch Lomond. The reserve has an excellent Visitor Centreon with new trails. Walk along Aber Shore and see Gartocharn Nature Reserve.

Looking away from the loch you will see a small hill rising up; This is Dumpling. A short walk to its top rewards you with stunning views of Loch Lomond. Nearby is Balloch’s popular rowing loch, Loch Lomond Shores and Balloch Castle Country Park.

A Great Place To Work, Live, And Grow

Around 10-15 minutes away is the village of Drymen, with access to the eastern shores of Loch Lomond; Visit Balmaha, Tom Weir Statue, Milarrochy Bay, Rowardennan and of course Ben Lomond.

Balloch is the gateway to the National Park, the last service steamer on Loch Lomond the Maid of the Loch, and Loch Lomond shore with shopping and experiences including mini golf, water sports and the Bird of Prey Centre. whites are located. Luss, a beautiful conservation village, is situated on the western shore of Loch Lomond. There are plenty of places to eat and a collection of cute gift shops. The annual Luss Highland Games are held in July. Children will enjoy the new Loch Lomond Fairie Trail.

Take a boat from Luss Pier to the island of Balloch, Rowardennan, BalmahaorInchcailloch. Head north on the A82 to see more attractions including Tarbet, Firkin Point, Ardlui and Inverugulas.

Arrocharon Loch Long and Tarbet near Loch Lomond are ideal places to base yourself for a Loch Lomond holiday. Beautiful villages with good community spirit and lots of places to eat and drink. Cobbler, Corbett, part of the Arrochar Alps, is famous for its unique summit with a spectacular view.

There are boat trips from Tarbet by Loch Lomond Cruise, including weekly trips to the RSPB reserve at Inversnaid. A little further up the A82 (or by boat) are Inveruglas and Falloch Falls.

Beautifully situated at the head of Loch Goil, Lochgoilhead Drimsynie Estate has a good relaxing atmosphere thanks to the holiday village. Hire a boat from Loch Goil Cruisers or call into their fantastic new Boat Shed Cafe. Visit Cormonachan Woodlands to see the beautiful red squirrels in the skin. At the end of the road you will find Carrick Castle, where you can walk to Ardentini.

Take some time away from Loch Goil to visit Lauder Memorialat Invernoaden. On the Dunoon side are Benmore Botanic Gardens and Pak’s Glen.

Ardentinny is located in the Argyll Forest on the Cowal Peninsula. Beachside camping facilities are available here, and nearby is the restored Victorian walled garden of Glenfinart. Other nearby places to visit include Blairmore, Benmore Botanic Gardens, Puck’s Glen and Kilmun Arboretum.

On the shores of Loch Long, in the small community of Blairmore, is Victoria Pier, opposite which is a wonderful community garden. A short drive across the lochside is Ardentinny, where you’ll find Glenfinart Walled Garden. Other nearby places to visit include Benmore Botanic Gardens, Puck’s Glen and Kilmun Arboretum.

Directly on the edge of the National Park, near Dunoon, is the village of Kilmun with its wonderful Arboretum. Blairmore and Glenfinart Walled Gardens in Ardentinny are nearby and well worth a visit. Other nearby attractions include Benmore Botanic Gardens and Puck’s Glen.

Drymenis is a popular first overnight stop on the West Highland Way. The heart of the village is its pretty square, with its pubs offering good food and drink. Enjoy Piping in the square organized by the local community on Thursdays in the summer.

For the eastern shores of Loch Lomond, head to Balmaha where the Tom Weir statue is located, take a trip to Millarrochy Bay, Rovardennan and of course Ben Lomond. If you are a hiker, enjoy a wonderful hike up Conic Hill.

Balmaha is one of the prettiest villages in the National Park and is home to the much-photographed Tom Weir statue. There is also the Millennium Walk and the West Highland Way. If you’re walking or driving, your journey will take you to Milarrochy Bay and eventually to Rovardennan, where you can climb Ben Lomond.

There is an excellent National Park Visitor Center in the car park at Balmaha. At the rear of the parking lot is the trailhead to Conic Hill. Enjoy beautiful views of Loch Lomond and its islands from the hill. The nearest island is Inchcailloch; you can get there by water taxi from Balmaha Boatyard (currently not operating). The cruise has trips around the islands of Loch Lomond from Balmaha. As well as Sweeney’s Cruises, they also have a water bus service connecting Balmaha with Luss.

Visit the Rowardennan memorial to those who died during the two world wars. An entire park is dedicated to honoring their sacrifice. Walk the ClimbBen Lomondor West Highland Way, alternatively take the Cruise Loch Lomond water bus from the Youth Hostel to Luss or Tarbet.

Close by is Balmaha with the Tom Weir statue and Conic Hill. You can visit Inchcailloch, one of Loch Lomond’s most beautiful islands, by water taxi from Balmaha Boatyard.

This village is the gateway to the Trossachs and has recently been regenerated with new shops and cafes, making it an ideal base for a stay on the National Cycle Route 7.

Just outside the village is the Lodge Visitor Center with Go Ape! The path beside Loch ArdandLoch Chon takes you through beautiful scenery. Continue along the road to visit Inversnaid or Stronachlachar.

Duke’s Pass has a wonderful detour along Three Lochs Drive. There are more campsites with a campsite at Loch Achray. AtLoch Katrine, cruise or cycle across the sea.

There are several holiday homes in Stronachlachar, near Rob Roy McGregor’s birthplace, Loch Katrin. Mention must be made of the excellent cafe at the Pier in Stronachlachar, which serves excellent food.

In Balquhidder Church you can see Rob Roy’s grave. The popular Monachyle Mhor boutique hotel is just down the road from Loch Voil. There is a mirror viewing platform between Loch Voil and Loch Doine.

Next to Loch Earn, the path continues into Perthshire and out of the National Park in the picturesque village of St Fillans, with more features of theBLiSS traila along the route. National Cycle Route 7 crosses the Glen Ogle Viaduct; if you’re riding a bike, you can’t see the awesomeness of its construction.

Lochearnhead and nearby Killeen have annual Highland Games. Killeen is also home to Dochart Falls, which run through the village.

Killeen’s main attraction is the Dochart Falls, which flow precipitously through the village. There are also annual Highland Games. Loch Tay is close to Killeen along with Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve.

At Crianlarich the A82 meets the A85. You are ideally placed for access to Killeen, Oban, Fort William and Loch Lomond. The West Highland Way also has train stations at Crianlarich and Tyndrum. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb to the top of Ben More.

Loch Lomond Wakeboard is located at the Ardlui Hotel. There is also a marina at the north end of Loch Lomond. On the other side of the loch is the West Highland Way, linked by ferry to Ardlui. A82
