Crawfish Restaurant In Orlando Fl – Located within the unexpectedly quaint downtown Orlando, King Cajun Crawfish gives you a solid dose of New Orleans namesakes when you’re six months out from Mardi Gras and Juneteenth for some crawfish etouffee.
After one of the first weeks I went back to Orlando, and a few weeks ago I finally got to go. I had just attended my second open house under the gross delusion that I could actually afford to buy a home in a historic part of Orlando, and I was in desperate need of food that would fill me with unemployment and carefree happiness. remind of My adventures in NOLA were highlighted by drinking Bloody Marys in the streets, hauling plastic garbage home every evening, and of course, eating.

I realized I’d sampled the real deals pretty well at Nawlins last February, so I knew what I was in for when we tried King Cajun. We started with crawfish etouffee, easily one of my favorite dishes. It was amazing, although the rice was a little too sticky for my liking.

We split some huge seafood boils, including crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. I really just wanted to eat the crab legs, and although I love crawfish in etouffee, I wasn’t about to eat one in all its insect-like glory.
(I’m one of those people who knows where food comes from, but tries not to really pay attention to it while eating).
We went with the ShaBang sauce at medium, and the spice level was just right. The sauce… well, the boyfriend loved it, and other friends raved about it too… but something was off for me. That’s for sure
Very good, but it had a chalky aftertaste that I wasn’t a huge fan of. I’m also partial to crabs with Old Bay, as my first experience boiling them was in Annapolis.

Don’t get me wrong – I literally ate every one of those crab legs, actually tried a crawfish.
One small touch I particularly liked: there was a sink in the corner of the restaurant, separated from the tables but without going to the toilet, so you could wash your hands, only to wipe off a pathetic wet nap. Plus they give you in the wing house.
Final Verdict: If they get Bloody Marys and King Cakes, I’ll probably never go back to New Orleans again. Hot N’ Juicy Crawfish and its Orlando staff are gearing up for the restaurant’s grand opening on July 9, 2011.
