I realized I’d sampled the real deals pretty well at Nawlins last February, so I knew what I was in for when we tried King Cajun. We started with crawfish etouffee, easily one of my favorite dishes. It was amazing, although the rice was a little too sticky for my liking.

We split some huge seafood boils, including crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. I really just wanted to eat the crab legs, and although I love crawfish in etouffee, I wasn’t about to eat one in all its insect-like glory.

We went with the ShaBang sauce at medium, and the spice level was just right. The sauce… well, the boyfriend loved it, and other friends raved about it too… but something was off for me. That’s for sure

Very good, but it had a chalky aftertaste that I wasn’t a huge fan of. I’m also partial to crabs with Old Bay, as my first experience boiling them was in Annapolis.
