Very Best Things To Do In Houston, Texas

What are the best places to eat in Houston? Where to eat the best steak and the tastiest seafood? Let’s check!

There are so many great Mexican restaurants in Houston that are run by real Mexicans, so they all have great food. It’s hard to pick just one. Once you’re in Texas, you have to try Margaritas – they have the best Ritas in the US! You can find original flavors frozen or on the rocks, as well as mixed with other cocktails. The best I ever had was at a Tex Mex restaurant in San Antonio on the Riverwalk –

Remember, you’re in Texas – steak is a must! It’s hard to say which is the best steakhouse in Houston, but the following are definitely worth a try.

Tango Malbec, an Argentinian restaurant in the Galleria, is a really nice, slightly more “casual” restaurant that serves Argentinian dishes and steaks. It’s a bit pricey – steaks range from $35 to $70, and you only get the steak and sides on your plate. However – it’s really tasty!

Papa Bros Steakhouse is a real steakhouse where you can choose from a variety of steaks and eat as much as you can!

It was always busy so I couldn’t go but many of my friends recommended it – good steak but not only!

Burgers are something you should try at least once while in the US. I’m talking about a real, juicy burger (not a McDonald’s “burger”). Houston has a wide variety of great burger places to choose from.

Bubbas Burger Shack was voted Houston’s best burger joint. A small yard next to the road is also good. You can get a decent burger starting at $4.75 and a full burger for around $10. They also have buffalo burgers. I can recommend the Buffalo Vegas Burger with Monterey Jack Cheese, Bacon, Avocado, Egg and BJ for $11 or $25. Try Lonely Star, Texas beer and you’ll be in freeway heaven!

Restaurants By Neighborhood

The Cheesecake Factory is a chain restaurant, but they have great food and I love their burgers! I had an amazing Kobe burger there with avocado, bacon, and cheese a few years ago, and it stayed with me for years. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the same thing when I was in Houston. However, when I asked, they added what I asked for and it was delicious. They also have amazing cheesecakes! But beware – some of them are very tasty (and hard to finish).

Grand Lux Cafeis is similar to the Cheesecake Factory, but a little better, with a nicer atmosphere – as they say, “simple world food in an elegant but relaxed atmosphere”, and great burgers!

Guy Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant is a Midtown eatery. This is a traditional Japanese grill, with an indoor grill table where you can order fresh raw meat and vegetables and grill them yourself. The selection is huge and has many desserts and different flavors. Good drink menu.

Guy Kaku’s $60 course for two is huge (enough for 3 of course) and has a lot of variety – all delicious! It includes several starters, BBQ items with a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables, and a S’mores dessert (a great barbecue idea).

Good drinks menu and bar to enjoy while waiting for a table. Some downsides are you get tired of grilling instead of focusing on the food and your clothes, hair, and everything smells like barbecue after you go, so it’s not a good idea to go there before a party (actually we do it haha).

You can find The Kona Grill next to the Galleria Mall. It has a separate bar and restaurant, which is really nice. They also made fresh sushi right in front of you. I ordered the best fish I’ve ever had: Miso-sake sea bass, shrimp and pork over fried rice and Asian ratatouille for $27.75 – highly recommended! And the dessert is huge!

The Sage 400 at the Galleria is a great spot with dark lighting and more chicks. They can choose from sushi, sashimi, rolls and other dishes. Sushi is delicious! The cocktail selection is also good.

I’m a big fan of seafood, so I was happy to find a good seafood restaurant in Houston.

Of The Most Buzzworthy Brunch Spots In Houston

Yia Yia Mary’s is a Greek restaurant. This lovely Greek restaurant has an authentic Mediterranean feel. The pretty tables covered in striped cloths and fresh seafood on display will make you want to go back to Greece. There are so many different dishes and everything looks delicious, so it’s hard to choose something. I can recommend seafood and baklava for dessert!

There are many nice restaurants on the beach on the Broadwalk, but be prepared that they will all be full and you will have to wait for a table.

For Bubba Gump Shrimp Co (the seafood chain based on the Forrest Gump movie), you’ll probably have to wait the longest.

Studio Movie Grill is a movie theater where you can eat and drink while watching movies on the big screen. You have a small table and a button to call the waiter if you want. The food there isn’t the best in the world (okay), but I love the concept. This was definitely one of the most interesting Houston restaurants I’ve been to.

Bucket List Foods To Eat In Houston

Thai Gourmet is the first Thai restaurant with a really nice owner (he welcomed us to the table) with authentic Thai curry. Just be careful – if they say something is spicy, it really is! You have three options: Spicy, Spicy and Thai Spicy – the last one will burn you from the inside out, so be careful.

Little Sheep Hot Pot is a Mongolian hot pot. I think there’s more than one hot pot in town, and I love hot pot, so good for you too! If you don’t know what it is and want to give it a try, you should go too 😉 Check out the Little Sheep website for what a hot pot is. Fresh food, lots of options, low prices.

I haven’t mentioned many others, which is fine too, but these are my favorites. Honestly, it’s really hard to find a really bad place to eat in Houston because most of the restaurants are good. Just go to the busy fairyland and you’ll love the food!

Massage – Middle Eastern Hookah Restaurant. They have delicious food, flavors, juicy meats, aromatic spices, a beautiful courtyard with lights and heaters in winter, and you can rent a hookah for even better taste!

Arcodoro and Sardinia restaurants are among the finest restaurants in Houston. However, this may be an exaggeration. This is one of the few Italian restaurants in Houston that I have visited. The food was good and I loved their outdoor patio.

Note: I’ve stopped eating beef and cut back on it for environmental reasons since visiting some places in Houston. The restaurants mentioned here are still worth a visit and serve vegetarian options.
