The most popular and reported ghost story of the Alex Johnson Hotel is that of the Lady in White. In the 1970s, a young bride was reported to have committed suicide by throwing herself out of the window of room 812. Those who knew the young woman insisted it was foul play and claimed she was too happy and kind to do such a deed. . The fact that she was to inherit a large sum of money only strengthened their argument. Despite this, no one was ever convicted of her murder, and the verdict of suicide remained firm.

Today, guests claim that the young bride wanders the corridors of the eighth floor in a white dress, looking for those responsible for her death. It has been reported that the window of room 812 is often left open in the morning and dresser drawers are taken out, turned upside down and put back in place.

Some guests have reported seeing the ghost of Alex Johnson himself. He is believed to have remained on the premises since his death in 1938 to ensure operations continued to run smoothly.

Some guests on the eighth floor of the hotel reported that the ghost of a young girl knocked on their door night after night, then disappeared into the hallway. She was also heard giggling down the hall.

Reservations are only guaranteed with a prepaid cash, check or credit card deposit, after which they will be guaranteed all night. For individual arrivals, we require a notice of cancellation 48 hours in advance. If the required notice of cancellation is not received, the guest will be charged for one night. All remaining days will be released, unless the signed contract states otherwise.
