Prenatal Massage Therapy Near Me

Prenatal Massage Therapy Near Me – My second pregnancy was really hard on my body. I had a prenatal massage at Rejuvenations and I was hooked. Knowing that my therapist was trained in pregnancy massage gave me the peace of mind to relax and let go – I knew I was in “good hands”. I started counting the days between my appointments. My son also loved the massages. He would sway and dance during the massage and then sleep for hours. It was like magic.

Pregnancy is an exciting time as you prepare for the new member of your family. But many women experience back pain during pregnancy… and leg pain and general fatigue. If you already have children at home, relief can feel like an unattainable goal. We can help with pregnancy pain so you can feel better!

Prenatal Massage Therapy Near Me

If you’re experiencing normal pregnancy-related discomfort, the question isn’t whether you want a pregnancy massage, but when is the best time to get one. The answer to that question is today – is it a massage in the first trimester or in the third trimester.

Massage In Late Pregnancy

Many women wait for massage in the 3rd trimester and immediately wonder why they suffered for so long. There is no reason to avoid massage during the first trimester; Prenatal massage has never been associated with a risk of miscarriage, but it is associated with making the expectant mother feel better.

In fact, perinatal massage — regular massage before, during and after your pregnancy — can be an important part of your health. Why? Because pregnancy is a period of profound change: your center of gravity changes and your muscles and joints have to work differently. Perinatal massage ensures that your body moves through the transition with ease at each stage.

Many expectant mothers wonder if pregnancy massage is safe for the baby. The answer is yes. It is not only safe but very beneficial for you and your growing baby. Pregnancy safe massage is performed by a massage therapist with advanced training in prenatal massage, as are all of our therapists.

In general, pregnancy massage uses moderate pressure on muscle groups to relieve muscle tension and improve lymph and blood circulation. These techniques address many common discomforts, especially those associated with skeletal and circulatory changes and hormonal changes during pregnancy. A skilled therapist can help relieve pain during pregnancy as your body goes through these changes.

The Benefits Of Prenatal Massage Therapy

Prenatal massage is different from regular massage in that we support your body using pillows or cushion systems (we use the “bodycushion” method for mask massage for pregnant women). It is very comfortable!

Pregnancy massage helps prepare your body for labor by helping to increase flexibility and range of motion in the joints and muscles associated with labor. And by helping blood flow to the legs, prenatal massage can reduce the chances of edema, varicose veins, and blood clots. If you already suffer from these conditions, don’t worry – they don’t automatically disqualify you from pregnancy massage. However, if you have any high-risk conditions, it is important that your doctor is aware of any complimentary health treatments you receive, and we require a note from your doctor that you are cleared for massage.

We’ve asked clients if massage can induce labor. This is called “induction massage”. Although studies show that there is no direct evidence that massage can make you go into labor, we do know that stress can hinder labor. By reducing your stress levels, you can help your body naturally progress to labor. We like to joke that the best way to induce labor is to schedule a pregnancy massage on your due date – many of our clients call from the delivery room to cancel their appointment. It seems to be very useful.

All of our therapists have advanced training in pregnancy massage and helping expectant moms feel better. Schedule a prenatal massage now.

Did you know Prenatal Massage? Exceptionally effective during your pregnancy? They can help relieve back pain and relieve stress.

Fun fact: Most women experience lower back pain between the 20th and 28th week of pregnancy. We recommend walking, exercising and trying to improve your posture to reduce muscle pain, but that doesn’t always help.

Technically, you can have prenatal massage anytime after the first trimester, according to other sources. However, we don’t necessarily agree – if you’re doing prenatal massage at home, the best window is between 12 – 31 weeks of pregnancy.

During the first trimester (12 weeks) your pregnancy is very fragile. During this period, a mistake can easily lead to miscarriage. If you are still in your first trimester, most professional therapists will refuse to give you a prenatal massage!

During the last 12 weeks, the position of the fetus is usually more stable, so it is safe to do a light massage to help blood flow throughout the body and to the fetus.

Prenatal Massage Near Me

We don’t recommend prenatal massage after 31 weeks of pregnancy, especially if you don’t have someone experienced to help you. Also, as you get closer to giving birth (and as a new mom! 🙂 ), certain massage points can trigger contractions. If you need a massage, consult a professional or doctor first.

However, your partner is not an experienced prenatal massage therapist. (If they are, congratulations! You’re going to have an incredibly relaxing pregnancy! 😉 )

They will help you. Make sure they massage lightly and point out safe areas to massage (see our chart above!)

First, take a pillow to support your stomach. This applies to any position. There are two positions commonly used for massage during pregnancy: sitting on your side and lying down.

When sitting, face a wall or the back of a chair with a pillow on your stomach for support.

When lying on your side, use a pillow to support your stomach so that the position is comfortable and safe.

Now your partner can start massaging! But, again, remember to use light movements in safe areas (see our chart above).

Be especially careful around the belly. Calm the body with light strokes so that your baby can feel the massage. Prenatal massage made easy! It usually takes 5-10 minutes and can improve the health of you and your baby.

What Is Prenatal Massage And Where Are The Best Massages Near Me?

The third step is to use prenatal massage oil to make the massage gentle, soft and relaxing. In addition, using massage oil makes the surface of the skin more slippery, allowing you to better control the pressure. Choose pregnancy-safe massage oils as not all essential oils are safe for pregnant women.

Prenatal massage is not a “don’t try this at home” thing. But for some it can be very challenging. So it is important to understand the limitations of prenatal massage, especially when you try it at home.

Prenatal massage is effective and comfortable. It can be as simple as a short 5-10 minute massage to help relieve your stress. If you want a full body relaxation experience, a professional prenatal massage is also a great option to help you!
