PB Surf Shop rents foam, epoxy, and fiberglass surfboards as well as bikes, skateboards, skimboards, body boards and more. Remember we are not a rental shop – we are a surf shop that rents boards and equipment.

Pacific Coast Surf School is where surfing started in San Diego. We opened in 1962 when the surf scene was in its infancy. Since then, Pacific Coast Surf School has been an integral part of the Pacific Coast community. The old brand still conjures up images and feelings of “Good Vibrations” and wave dreams! We have a long relationship with the famous surfboard inventor and former owner of Gordon and Smith Surfboards. Our roots run deep in the San Diego surf scene.

In 1993 local sailor, ocean-prone sailor and outrigger Randy Strunk took over the reins. Now, Randy continues to run the store connecting both locals and visitors. PB Surf Shop is not a company but has a home grown family feel. When you enter you can feel its authenticity.

Lessons are offered 7 days a week, throughout the year, with four different sessions per day. Our easy booking system makes booking your lessons online a breeze. If you or a family member doesn’t like surfing, no worries, we’ve got you covered. We offer rentals, surf camps, ski camps and boogie board camps just for kids.

However, you must be over 5 years old to learn how to use a walker.
