Our standards and plan Everyone… There’s a saying in Batam: “give a man a fish and he’ll say it’s so fresh, ah” Famous for seafood, let’s dig through all Batam’s delicious seafood. For hard-to-reach places like Kelong Seafood Restaurant, consider hiring a car and driver to avoid the hassle of waiting for a taxi.

A stone’s throw from Batam’s Harbor Bay terminal is a long stretch of seafront restaurants and bars. Live seafood, sheesha and drinks are sold in the area. It also has a beautiful sunset and a restaurant with live bands. Walk down and enjoy the sea breeze, it’s a good place to meet.

Nick’s Seafood Restaurant

This place is great! Food as “cheap reasonably priced”! It’s so nice that we described it twice with the same words.” It is highly recommended by the people of Batam. One of my favorite fish is their fried squid with salted egg yolk. Nothing is as fancy as eating squid with lots of things to make it taste better. The chili crabs are very reasonably priced and added a little extra to the chili crab sauce. The steamer is also fresh and tender.

Must try: 2 crabs are only SGD34, 1 steamed and 1 chilli crab! I HIGHLY recommend eating with fried mantou, I almost licked the last drop off my plate. Salted egg yolk fried calamari around SGD 5 + steamed grouper SGD 20+

What to do next: 5-minute walk to Harbor Bay Mall for massages or movies, or Bayfront Mall for Eska Spa and Kueh Lapis hunting.

Jumbo Seafood is Thai food with a Chinese twist! What more can you ask for. We believe the Thai and Chinese food mix comes from the restaurant owners. They couldn’t agree on what kind of food to sell and both owners need their money!

Quan Xin Yuan Seafood Restaurant

Try fried fish skins or scales as normal people call them. Jumbo Thai Kitchen offers two VIP rooms and a live band that can be booked on request. Many businessmen come here after work to relax. The taste is authentic as one chef is Thai and the other is Chinese. Chinese chef just to work in a 5 star hotel restaurant. The standard is maintained by the dishes he serves.

Must try: Tom Yam soup 700g Sri Lankan black pepper crab, 600g Harbor Bay style steamed black garoupa, 1 large plate of hot chilli clams, 1 medium plate of sambal kangkong, 4 bowls of rice, 2 cans of beer and 1 coconut, total cost was around SGD65 (special takeaway orders for their famous fried fish skins!)

This Indonesian-Chinese mix is one of my favourites. The menu has pictures because most people can’t pronounce the fresh ingredients on the menu. I recommend the Black group and especially the crispy squid. The taste is balanced and the chilli is OMG! The Harbor Bay Seafood restaurant is also a popular wedding venue. It offers a variety of settings for guests, including a private VIP experience! Wedding by the sea in Batam, anyone?

The Best Seafood Restaurants In New Jersey

Next stop, beyond the Harbor Bay Area, we have Sumber Rezni. This is one of the many Kelong live seafood restaurants in Batam. You don’t get that in Singapore. We love the fresh food and unique atmosphere here. We recommend shrimp or chicken with green chilli, depending on what animal you fancy.

Address: Pantai Batu Besar, ul. Haji Muhammad Saleh RT. 01/RW. 02, Batu Besar, Nongsa, Batu Besar Nongsa, Batu Besar, Nongsa, Batam City, Riau Islands 29465 (open on google map)

It is located about 30-40 minutes drive from the main city center of Nagoya in Batam. We love this restaurant, mainly for its view of the iconic Barelang Bridge and four other islands on the horizon. Enjoy the sea breeze if you choose the spacious outdoor dining area, which can accommodate up to 1,500 people.

For an exclusive experience, there is also a fully air-conditioned VIP room with karaoke equipment. Kelung in the restaurant is guarded by a monkey named Melissa, who was adopted from a neighboring island as a baby and loves to eat coconuts! We ask how Melissa thinks about food and she seems to prefer coconuts.

The Kelong Seafood Restaurant

Live seafood is kept in nets in the sea, and customers can choose who to kill if they look at it the wrong way. We recommend the fresh lobster, it tastes great and you won’t get prices like this in Singapore. It’s like tiger prawn prices but you get lobster.

Another kelong restaurant, this particular one is remote and hard to find, and the name of the restaurant comes from bad brainstorming, lol. Go Instagram crazy as it has an amazing sea view overlooking the Barelang Bridge and a cool old school new school vibe that comes with the place.

Its interior is beautifully decorated with colorful shells and hanging dream catchers. They have an extensive menu of crab, shellfish, lobster, shrimp, squid, oysters, as well as Chinese dishes and traditional Indonesian seafood dishes such as Ikan Stim, steamed grouper in a spicy turmeric sauce.

They keep fresh seafood in nets outside the restaurant so the lobster can’t slip away. The lobster tastes great. (Man, how can you go wrong with lobster) This is our favorite dish
